v4.8.5
Connected without GPS
A device that reaches the server but sends no GPS fix shows as connected without GPS, and can raise its own alert.
Unassign the driver
From the device Driver tab on the map (and its detail in the app) you can remove the current driver, with permission to edit drivers.
Parking mode
Arm a vehicle where you leave it, from the lock in the map list or from the app. If it moves more than 100 m away you get one notice and it disarms. Needs the parking mode addon.
First and last engine on and off
Reports, history and the app show the first and last engine on, engine off and movement of the period. Trip start and Trip end are still the first and last position.
Parking mode report
Reports has a Parking mode report: when it was switched on and off for each vehicle, and whether the notice, you or the platform switched it off. Each user sees their own.
Fatigue driving alert
New “Fatigue driving” alert type for the fatigue alarm the device sends: from the camera or from continuous time at the wheel, depending on the device. It notifies once per episode and is not the same as “Driver drowsiness”.
Default plan with scope and undo
Changing the default plan in Billing asks which accounts it applies to, shows the change before saving, and can be undone.
Review before saving
Saving the server settings, the database cleanup and the plugins shows what will change and asks for confirmation.
IMEI suggestion
When adding a device, if the server already saw it with another IMEI format (for example with leading zeros), it suggests that IMEI.
Blocked IPs in the panel and the API
Admin > Blocked IPs now also blocks access to the web panel and the API. A blocked browser sees a page that says so.
Long histories
A period with too many positions asks you to shorten it, and the export of that history runs in the background with a link when it is ready. If you reload, the wait goes on.
Street View only when set up
The Street View widget and map view only show when the admin has set up Street View.
Command without an answer
If the GPS service does not answer within 15 seconds, the command shows "No response" and is not retried by itself, because it may have reached the device.
Plan change warning
Paying a plan for something that already has an active subscription asks you to confirm first: the old subscription is cancelled at the gateway.
Choose what you offer your clients
In Plugins the admin can turn off parking mode, the Help manual and the "Device without GPS" and "Sensor rate change" alerts. Turned off, they disappear from the web, the app and the API.
Copy the API hash
In the admin panel, when editing a user, the API tab has a Copy button for their API hash.
Payments and subscriptions
Administrators have a new screen in Logs with paid subscriptions and the latest Stripe notices.
Own routing server
In the server settings, the administrator can set their own routing server (OSRM) for task routes.
Signed formulas
In a sensor formula, signed([value],16) reads a signed 16-bit value. Without the number of bits it works as before.
Custom alerts fired twice
A custom event alert no longer fires twice for positions with the same time (engine on/off).
MapLibre map
On the MapLibre map, saving a geofence, the Area tool and closing a plane popup work again, and follow and share wait for the map to load.
Units and time zone from the app
Changing units or time zone from the app no longer deletes object groups or turns off the API Gateway.
Monthly scheduled reports
Monthly scheduled reports no longer loop, and their type and day are checked.
Per diem by driver report
The per diem by driver report no longer fails.
Frozen marker
The map marker no longer freezes on devices that send frequent heartbeats and a GPS fix a few seconds late.
Engine hours after a coverage gap
Virtual engine hours no longer lose time when the device sends its stored positions late after a coverage gap.
Maintenance by days
Creating a service by days with Last service, editing one with an expiration date, and saving a service through the API without an email no longer give an error.
Registration with plans
Saving Registration with plans enabled keeps the permissions of new accounts, and a saved table with nothing ticked no longer grants every permission.
Infobip API Gateway
Messages through the Infobip API Gateway are sent again.
Deleted users and devices
Deleting a user or a device cancels its paid subscriptions at the gateway, so they are no longer charged.
Stripe notices out of order
A client who just paid no longer shows as expired because of a late or out-of-order Stripe notice, or of the old subscription being cancelled.
Failed Stripe charge
A failed recurring charge no longer cuts the plan before its expiration date. If a Stripe retry charges, the date is extended by itself. Each failure emails the client and the administrator.
Deactivated account in the app
A deactivated account gets its message in the app instead of an error.
Speed stuck at zero
A moving vehicle no longer keeps 0 km/h on the track, and a GPS fix that arrives late no longer makes the history jump back and forth.
Engine hours at zero
Engine-hour and flow reports no longer treat a frozen hour counter as the real one, so they stop showing zero while the engine was running.
Geofences missing on the report
The geofence list shows again on the geofence in-and-out report.
Device list on a large account
Loading the devices no longer times out on an account with thousands of them.
Chile summer time
In Chile the clock change follows the first Sunday of September and the first Sunday of April.
Several alarms in one message
A custom alert that watches one alarm still fires when the device sends that alarm together with others.
Two-step verification with Remember me
Coming back with “Remember me”, or signing in with another account in the same browser, now asks for that account's two-step verification code.
Password recovery and blocked changes
An account that cannot change its password can no longer change it through password recovery with the email of a secondary credential.
Secondary credentials and test message
The demo account can no longer create secondary credentials, and neither the demo account nor a read-only credential can send the API Gateway test message or clear its queue, and those buttons no longer show for them. A read-only credential also can no longer request event videos again, download, pause or cancel videos, or switch parking mode on or off. Deleting secondary credentials from the admin panel signs out their open sessions. With “User individual config” off, everyone signs in with the general methods.
Tasks when removing devices from a user
Removing devices from a user in Users → Edit or through the API changes their open tasks on those devices to Failed, as Detach already did.
Editing a client through the API without a plan
Editing a client through the API without sending the plan saves the devices limit and expiration date that are sent, instead of ignoring them.
System Health history on opening
When you open System Health, the history chart and the incidents load right away; before, they only showed after choosing a range or after 2 minutes.
JT808 with a leading zero
A JT808 or Huabao unit saved with a leading zero still matches when the tracker sends the id without it.
More from Kingwo and Vodofo trackers
Kingwo and Vodofo trackers now report fuel, engine hours, harsh driving, collisions, tire pressure, Wi-Fi location and more alarms. From the platform you can cut and restore the engine, request a position, change the report interval, clear an alarm and restart the device.
Jimi commands by model
Send command no longer offers a Jimi device what its model does not understand (output control, arming, alarm, driver), nor engine cut-off without a relay. JC400 and JC261 add Restart. It goes by the model assigned to the device.
More JT808 commands
JT808 units add output on/off, stop periodic position, dismiss alarm and text or voice message. Omni JQ adds request device status.
