GPS sensors and accessories supported by TrackeraX

Sensors you can add to any device in TrackeraX, and the GPS protocols that deliver the data for each one.

  • Fuel level — Reads the fuel in the tank from a float or capacitive probe, the CAN bus or the device itself. With calibration and the full-tank value, TrackeraX turns it into liters and shows refuels and drains. (58 protocols)
  • Fuel consumption — Fuel used, as reported by the CAN bus or the device. It can be read as an incremental counter or as separate values. (37 protocols)
  • Temperature — Temperature from 1-Wire or BLE probes, the engine coolant or the device itself. Useful for the cold chain: charts, history and alerts when it leaves the range. (96 protocols)
  • RFID / driver ID — Driver identification with RFID cards or iButton keys. TrackeraX links the code to a driver and shows who drove each trip. (63 protocols)
  • Ignition — Ignition on or off, from the ACC wire or the ignition flag of the protocol. TrackeraX uses it for trips, stops, engine hours and idling. (102 protocols)
  • Engine hours — Engine running time: sent by the device, counted from an on/off input or calculated by the platform. Used for maintenance by hours. (37 protocols)
  • Odometer — Mileage sent by the device or the vehicle (OBD/CAN), or calculated by the platform from GPS distance. Used in reports and service intervals. (137 protocols)
  • RPM — Engine revolutions per minute from OBD or the CAN bus. Useful for driving behaviour and high-RPM alerts. (48 protocols)
  • ECM speed — Vehicle speed read from the engine computer (OBD/CAN) instead of the GPS. (32 protocols)
  • Device battery — Charge or voltage of the internal battery of the tracker. Shown as a level and used for low-battery alerts. (180 protocols)
  • External power — Voltage of the vehicle battery or power supply. Detects disconnections, power cuts and low voltage. (124 protocols)
  • GSM signal — Mobile signal strength reported by the device, shown as a level between a minimum and a maximum. Helps find coverage problems. (108 protocols)
  • Satellites — Number of GPS satellites in use. Tells you how reliable each position is. (161 protocols)
  • Door — Door open or closed, from a digital input or the door flag of the protocol. Useful for vans, trucks and cold rooms. (123 protocols)
  • Seatbelt — Seatbelt fastened or not, wired to a digital input of the device. (112 protocols)
  • Load / weight — Cargo weight from axle-load sensors or a scale connected to the device, with formula and calibration. (7 protocols)
  • VIN — Vehicle identification number, read from OBD or the CAN bus. (18 protocols)
  • Engine block — Shows whether the engine is blocked by the relay of the device, the same one you control with the engine stop and resume commands. (23 protocols)
  • Harsh braking — Harsh-braking event detected by the accelerometer of the device. Counts in driving-behaviour reports. (44 protocols)
  • Harsh acceleration — Harsh-acceleration event detected by the accelerometer of the device. Counts in driving-behaviour reports. (43 protocols)
  • Harsh cornering — Harsh-cornering event detected by the accelerometer of the device. Counts in driving-behaviour reports. (26 protocols)
  • Counter — Pulse counter on a digital input: passengers, cycles, liters or any event the device counts. (5 protocols)
  • Charger connected — Shows whether the device is connected to power or charging. Typical of personal and battery trackers. (61 protocols)
